Art of the Airport Tower.

Combining history and art, this large album celebrates airport control towers, nearly all of them at commercial airports. Ranging from the historical (such as London's Croydon of 1927, or Columbus, Ohio's Port Columbus of 1929) to the most modern designs--some quite dramatic--the large-scale photos offer a good sense of a particular architectural type. Developed for a National Air and Space Museum exhibit, the content "meat" of the book is confined to captions of a paragraph or so for each tower which appear at the end of the volume. So there's a bit of flipping back and forth to connect the caption to the tower. But that's a minor quibble in a handsome volume.
